Imagine boarding a plane with plans to relax and catch some sleep during the flight, only to wake up in the middle of an unexpected crisis. That’s exactly what happened when a passenger experienced a substance abuse breakdown mid-air, leading to a "Mile High Intervention."
Mid-flight, their behavior became concerning enough to draw the attention of both passengers and the flight crew. What ensued was an impromptu intervention at 35,000 feet, highlighting the urgency and complexity of addiction—even in the most unexpected places.
The CEO of Hope Interventions, who was aboard the flight, stepped in to de-escalate the situation. Not only did they personally record and handle the incident, restraining the man with care and professionalism, but they also reached out to the young man and his family after the ordeal. Demonstrating the organization’s commitment to compassion and recovery, the CEO is now actively working to help the individual access the treatment they need to turn their life around.
